Denise Adams


Al Kimball counsels clients (U.S. and international) in acquisition and enforcement of intellectual property rights, principally patents and trademarks. He has extensive experience in geophysical data analysis and processing; as well as, exploration and production. He has prepared and obtained patents in the oil and gas industry (with particular emphasis on upstream activities) and computer systems and data processing. He also maintains an active docket of trademarks for companies in the U.S. and other countries. In appropriate patent litigation cases, he has served as an expert witness in areas of his experience. Mr. Kimball has been recognized by Woodward White, Inc. as Best Lawyers’ 2012 Houston Patent Law Lawyer of the Year. Previously, Mr. Kimball served as a patent examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

ReRoof Am. Inc. v. United Structures of Am. Inc., Jury verdict of non-infringement and invalidity of multiple patents; argued and obtained affirmance on appeal.

Represented small technology company in favorable settlement of patent infringement complaint against major U.S. soft drink company.

Expert Witness for Internet Companies in cases against non-practicing entities.
