Tom Swarbrick represents governments, sponsors and funders in relation to major energy projects including nuclear, solar, wind, energy from waste, as well as mining projects.  He focusses his practice on the preparation and negotiation of EPC and other construction contracts, operation and maintenance contracts and other construction-related documentation. 

Representative Matters

Advised F4E (an agency of the European Union) on the procurement of the $US20 billion Tokomak nuclear fusion reactor in Cadarache, France

Advised lenders in relation to the construction of the Perovo Solar Power Park, a 100MW facility in Crimea, Ukraine

Acting for a developer on the development and financing of a solar project in Jordan, procured pursuant to Round 1 of Jordan's Direct Proposal Submission Process

Advised UBB consortium (Balfour Beatty and Urbaser) on the construction of a waste to energy facility in Gloucestershire, U.K.

Advised a consortium of SMBC, Barclays, Bayern LB and Green Investment Bank in relation to the construction and operation of a waste processing facility in Wakefield, U.K.

Advised lenders on FIDIC contracts for works at the Western Bushveld Platinum Mine Project 1 in South Africa

Advised sponsors on FIDIC contracts for works at the Liberty Gold Mine in Liberia
