HOUSTON (March 16, 2010) – The 2010 edition of Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers has recognized Bracewell & Giuliani LLP in its Energy: Oil & Gas (United States), General Business Law (Kazakhstan), Projects: Infrastructure (United States), and Projects: Oil & Gas (United States) categories.

The guide highlighted the firm "for its oil and gas experience of the Houston office with the natural gas expertise of the Washington, D.C. office" and emphasized its "extensive knowledge of upstream oil and gas work, corporate and project finance and energy M&A." In addition, Chambers Global highlighted the cross-office and cross-section work that occurs between the regulatory, compliance, enforcement, and white-collar criminal defense teams.

The guide individually featured five of the firm's partners as "leaders in their field." Charles H. Shoneman, recognized in the Energy: Oil & Gas - Regulatory & Litigation (United States) category, is noted as being an "oil & gas expert." G. Alan Rafte is recognized in Energy: Oil & Gas – Transactional (United States) and Projects: Infrastructure and Projects: Oil & Gas (United States). Chambers Global commented that Rafte is "a star lawyer in the Houston office," and that he "has a practice that covers the full range of work, from pure energy E&P and project development to more esoteric financing vehicles such as volumetric production payments."

Thomas O. Moore and Nancy A. Wodka were ranked for the first time under the Projects (United States) category. "Infrastructure is another feature of the workload, an area where the skills of Thomas Moore come to the fore. He represented the SH 130 concession company in the successful negotiation and financing of a 50-year concession for the SH 130 toll road project. Chambers Global also notes that "[Nancy Wodka's] polite brand of persuasion works brilliantly for a client where negotiations last for two years and everyone needs to keep getting along."

Gregory J. Vojack was again recognized for General Business Law (Kazakhstan). "[Kazakhstan] Managing Partner Gregory Vojack has a particular specialization in corporate securities work, and is praised as being 'very big on capital markets projects.' " Chambers Global said.
