Bracewell represents public and private companies, underwriters, accounting firms and individuals in cases filed in federal and state courts throughout the country, as well as before governmental agencies. These disputes involve a range of allegations of civil and criminal wrongdoing.

We defend companies, boards of directors and individual officers in securities class actions alleging violations of the Securities and Exchange Acts, as well as insider trading, fraud, reporting requirement violations and state law claims.  Our attorneys also have significant experience in shareholder derivative lawsuits, counseling and representation of individuals providing grand-jury testimony and in law-enforcement interviews, and appearances before regulatory agencies.  These agencies include the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Labor.

We also represent clients involved in bankruptcy proceedings and in audit committee investigations, particularly in light of the Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.  Our attorneys direct the internal investigation, interact with the audit committee and often prepare a report or recommendation.
