Diana Alday


Staci Wilson is a member of Bracewell’s litigation section who represents and counsels clients regarding various commercial litigation matters. Staci represents clients in a variety of cases, including patent and trademark litigation, contractual disputes, construction litigation, real estate matters and disputes, and products liability litigation. Staci has represented clients in both state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings. She has been a member of trial teams who have obtained favorable jury verdicts in both state and federal court. 

Staci is also a member of Bracewell’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Representative Matters

Lead associate on the trial team that obtained a favorable verdict for client in a patent infringement case in the Eastern District of Texas – Tyler Division.  Conducted bench trial on defense of laches, argued objections to exhibits at trial, drafted pre-trial filings, drafted motions for summary judgment, took depositions of fact witnesses, coordinated extensive ESI search and review. 

MBCI, a division of NCI Group Inc. v. Cannon Storage Systems d/b/a Vern Cannon Company, in the Harris County District Court, No. 2008-47714. Part of the trial team that obtained favorable verdict for client in a case regarding claims of construction defects, products liability, deceptive trade practices, tortious interference and defamation claims related to sixteen metal building construction properties in Texas, Oklahoma and Florida.  Drafted summary judgment motion, took depositions that were played at trial, participated in pre-trial preparations and drafted pre-trial motions. 

Northeastern Plastics, Inc. v. X-S Merchandise; in the 127th Judicial District Court of Harris County, Texas, No. 2013-41557.  Assisted in obtaining favorable settlement for the client in a case relating to a rejection of goods under the Uniform Commercial Code.

Currently counselling a Houston-based manufacturer on matters concerning corporate identity theft, including serving as counsel on matters filed before the World Intellectual Property Office.

Represented a Texas based bank in trademark litigation in the Central District of Illinois.  Drafted motion for preliminary injunction, presented witness at preliminary injunction hearing. 

Managed and coordinated a large document review team of more than 20 team members and involved reviewing in excess of 400,000 documents.

Part of the team that represented a large chemical manufacturer/refinery owner in an arbitration concerning a costly construction dispute.  Assisted with expert witness preparation, drafted motions filed with the arbitration panel. 

Part of team that obtained a favorable settlement for roofing manufacturer in a litigation brought by a school district.  Participated as lead counsel at mediation involving in excess of 20 parties.  

Alex Hinojosa, Jr. v. Brownsville Public Utility Board; 2013-DCL-07500; Cameron County District Court.  Represented third-party intervenor, an electrical utilities provider.  Obtained favorable ruling on motion regarding protection of documents under the Texas Public Information Act.  

Sandbox Logistics, LLC and Oren McCormick Ventures, LLC v. Claude Lavoie and TBM Sand & Storage Logistics, LLC; in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, No. 4:12-cv-03351.  Part of the trial team that obtained a favorable settlement for the client.  Drafted preliminary injunction, drafted and negotiated settlement agreement.
