Teresa Permenter


Britt Steckman is an associate in Bracewell’s white collar defense practice.  She focuses her practice on civil and criminal litigation and federal securities law. Her clients include individuals, broker-dealers and municipal securities dealers, municipal advisors, large and medium sized investment banks, municipal issuers, and nationally recognized statistical rating organizations. Ms. Steckman defends enforcement actions by state and federal authorities; advises clients on compliance matters; conducts internal investigations; participates in civil litigation, FINRA arbitrations, and administrative litigation; and advises on federal securities law issues in municipal securities transactions. Ms. Steckman has experience with the federal securities laws, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, and the False Claims Act.  Ms. Steckman also has experience with appeals.   In her pro bono practice, Ms. Steckman has represented individuals in immigration matters and served as the first-chair attorney in a civil trial.
