Bracewell Represents Three Parties in $244 Million Sale of Power Plant to NRG Energy
HOUSTON — Bracewell & Giuliani LLP is representing Rockland Capital, LLC, Atlantic Power Corporation and John Hancock Life Insurance Company in NRG Energy’s acquisition of the Gregory cogeneration plant in Corpus Christi, Texas. NRG Energy has entered into an agreement with the consortium regarding the acquisition.
NRG is paying approximately $244 million for the plant, which is equivalent to an approximately 560MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine plant with generation capacity of approximately 400 nominal MW and steam capacity of more than a million pounds per hour (160 MW of electricity equivalent).
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and third-party consents, and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2013.
