Justice Dale Wainwright to Lead Bracewell & Giuliani’s Austin Office

February 24, 2015

Bracewell & Giuliani LLP announced today that Justice Dale Wainwright has been named managing partner of the firm’s Austin office.

“I am so pleased to have Dale take the reins of our Austin office,” said firm Managing Partner Mark C. Evans. “He has been a tremendous asset to our appellate practice, and we are excited to have him take on this leadership role.”

Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Wainwright served on the Texas Supreme Court for 10 years. Appointed in 2002, he was the third longest-serving member of the court and authored more than 125 opinions. At Bracewell, he represents clients in complex disputes in state and federal trial and appellate courts. Justice Wainwright handles briefing and oral argument at trial and appellate courts, structures appeals and mandamus proceedings for success and counsels clients on litigation strategy, error preservation at trial, jury charge preparation, post-verdict proceedings, and analysis of the trial record for appellate potential.

Bracewell & Giuliani was the first major out-of-town law firm to open an office in the Texas capital city of Austin. Since 1974, Bracewell’s attorneys and staff have served the legal needs of both Austin-based businesses and Fortune 500 companies in various areas of commercial and civil law. Today, the Austin office focuses on public finance; environmental strategies; litigation; corporate and securities; technology; tax; banking and financial institutions; and government relations.
