'Face the Nation’ moderator Bob Schieffer to interview Bracewell senior partner

DALLAS (August 9, 2006)—Bracewell & Giuliani LLP senior partner Rudolph W. Giuliani will share highlights of his career, from his public position in New York to his recently joining Bracewell, in a one-on-one interview with veteran CBS journalist Bob Schieffer at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center’s “A Conversation With a Living Legend,” 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Hilton Anatole, 2201 Stemmons Freeway.

A native of Brooklyn, Giuliani was elected the 107th mayor of New York City in 1993 and re-elected in 1997. In early 2005, he returned to the practice of law when he joined Bracewell and opened the New York office of the firm where he has been involved in litigation, investigations and corporate deals.

Author of New York Times best seller Leadership, Giuliani began his career as a federal law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Lloyd F. MacMahon in the Southern District of New York. Giuliani served in a number of positions within the Department of Justice, including its third highest, U.S. Associate Attorney General. In 1983 he was appointed U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, spearheading efforts against organized crime, government corruption and white collar crime. Time magazine named Giuliani the 2001 Person of the Year, and he has been knighted by Queen Elizabeth II.

Schieffer, anchor of The CBS Evening News and moderator of CBS News’ Face the Nation, grew up in Fort Worth. He has covered Washington, D.C., for CBS News for more than 30 years.

The annual luncheon has attracted approximately 1,200 supporters each year since its inception in 1990, raising more than $5.2 million for M. D. Anderson’s research and patient care initiatives.
