Bracewell Partner R. Daniel Witschey, Jr. Appointed to Corporate Laws Committee of the American Bar Association

HOUSTON — Bracewell & Giuliani LLP Partner Daniel Witschey has been selected to join the Corporate Laws Committee of the American Bar Association. The Committee has jurisdiction over the Model Business Corporation Act, which has been adopted by approximately 32 states, and continuously considers the need for possible amendments or additions in light of developments in corporate laws, judicial decisions and regulatory actions.

In addition, the Committee also focuses on issues relating to the functioning of both public and non-public corporations. Membership on the Committee is by invitation only, and the 24 appointed members serve for six-year terms.

“I am so pleased to see Dan being added to this important committee,” said Bracewell Managing Partner Mark C. Evans. “I think this inclusion speaks to Dan’s depth of experience in the corporate arena.”

Witschey is a member of Bracewell’s corporate and securities and energy groups and is based in the firm’s Houston office. He has represented companies, their boards of directors and committees for more than 35 years in securities matters, merger and acquisition transactions and corporate governance, and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for over 20 years.
