Bracewell Partner Bob Sheeder Named Chair of State Bar of Texas’ Labor and Employment Section

HOUSTON — Bracewell & Giuliani LLP Partner Robert E. Sheeder has been named Chair of the State Bar of Texas’ Labor and Employment Section. Sheeder previously served as Vice Chair for the section. He is the first Bracewell & Giuliani attorney to serve as Labor and Employment Section Chair, and only the second Bracewell attorney to serve as any State Bar of Texas chair.

In private practice since 1976, Sheeder represents clients in all aspects of labor and employment law before federal and state agencies and courts. As head of Bracewell & Giuliani’s labor and employment practice, he focuses on litigation and counseling in areas of discrimination, harassment, collective actions and class actions, union organizing and wage-hour issues.

The purpose of the Labor and Employment Law Section is to promote and enhance the practice of law by all lawyers who specialize or have an interest in labor and employment law. It is a voluntary organization within the State Bar of Texas and consists of approximately 3,000 licensed attorneys throughout the state who practice labor and employment law. Section members represent a wide variety of clients including employers, employees and labor organizations, in both the private and public sectors.
