Bracewell Partner and Founder of Peach Outreach Marcy Kurtz Honored

HOUSTON — Bracewell & Giuliani LLP Partner Marcy Kurtz has been named a Forward Mover honoree for 2012 by Cancer Forward for her work with Peach Outreach. Kurtz is the founder and director of Peach Outreach, a nonprofit that focuses on raising funds and awareness about endometrial (uterine) cancer and other gynecological cancers.

Kurtz founded Peach Outreach in 2011 with the goal of raising awareness and funds to support research and education to advance early diagnosis, treatment and the quality of life of endometrial cancer and other gynecological cancer patients, survivors and their families. Peach Outreach works closely with The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Uterine Cancer Research Program, and funds raised by the organization are donated to M.D. Anderson. Kurtz is the partner in charge of Bracewell’s pro bono program, coordinating and leading the firm’s pro bono efforts. In addition to this role, Kurtz maintains her practice as  a bankruptcy attorney, advising banks and other lenders on creditors' rights issues and representing clients in litigation, both within and outside of the bankruptcy case context.
