Bracewell Named Firm Of The Year By UH Black Law Students Association

December 16, 2009

HOUSTON — Bracewell & Giuliani LLP has been named Law Firm of the Year by the University of Houston Black Law Students Association. Bracewell is the first recipient of this award, which was given in recognition of the firm's support for the University of Houston's Black Law Students Association.

Throughout the year Bracewell maintains an active presence at the University of Houston Law Center. The firm maintains a mentoring program for first year minority students, pairing them with current firm attorneys, who meet with their mentees approximately every six weeks. Firm attorneys participate in panels at the Law Center twice a semester, helping students better understand areas of practice, the life of an attorney and providing tips on the recruiting process. In addition, Bracewell sponsors students to attend the Rocky Mountain Black Law Students Association Regional Convention and the National Black Law Students Association Annual Convention; and provides the Law Preview Scholarship, which allows five minority students admitted to the Law Center to participate in a readiness seminar.
