Bracewell & Giuliani's Minute Mentoring Series Wins PR News Award for Best Community Relations Program

April 1, 2011

HOUSTON — Minute Mentoring®, presented by Bracewell & Giuliani LLP and Dana Perino and Co., was named the best community relations program at the 2011 Legal PR Awards, presented by PR News. The award recognizes a successful and creative local effort that highlights a firm's strong corporate citizenship and commitment to its local community.

"We are honored to accept this award from PR News," said Dee Martin, partner with Bracewell & Giuliani LLP and Minute Mentoring co-founder. "Minute Mentoring brings together today's women leaders with young women rising stars in a way that creates powerful and memorable experiences for both mentors and mentees. We envisioned a program that would cut across industries and politics to address the very real issues that women face today. The demand for the program is overwhelming, and we now also are organizing Minute Mentoring programs directly with our clients."

The brainchild of Martin, former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino and former Senior Principal and Congresswoman Susan Molinari, Minute Mentoring® is a round robin-style forum in which 20 accomplished female professionals share their perspectives and advice with 60 of their young professional counterparts in 10-minute mentoring sessions. In 2010, Bracewell hosted three events – in Washington, D.C., Houston and New York.

"Mentoring opportunities for young women are too few and far between," said Minute Mentoring® co-founder Dana Perino. "Supply can't keep up with demand and Minute Mentoring® is a program that brings together women of exceptional accomplishment with younger women anxious to follow in their footsteps. The response of the mentors has been overwhelming, their enthusiasm is catching and their commitment is humbling."

PR News' Legal PR Awards recognize the best of litigation and law firm communications, from community relations and social media to corporate social responsibility.
