Bracewell & Giuliani's Hollingsworth Appointed to University of Houston System Board of Regents

HOUSTON — Texas Governor Rick Perry has appointed Bracewell & Giuliani LLP Public Law Partner Jarvis V. Hollingsworth to the University of Houston System Board of Regents. His term will run through August 31, 2015.

At Bracewell, Hollingsworth's practice focuses on the strategic representation of public bodies and educational institutions as fiduciary and investment counsel; complex commercial litigation; and public law, including the representation of private clients before public bodies.

Hollingsworth of is a member of the American and Houston Bar associations, member and former director of the State Bar of Texas, and treasurer of the Houston Bar Foundation. He also is past chairman of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas Pension Fund Board of Trustees, past board member of the Texas Growth Fund, past member of the Lehman Brothers Private Equity Advisory Board and past director of the University of Houston Alumni Association. Hollingsworth served in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, among other decoration. A native of Fayette, Alabama, Hollingsworth received a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he served as co-captain of the Army football team, and a law degree from the University of Houston.
