Bracewell & Giuliani Represents Plains Exploration in Eagle Ford Acquisition

HOUSTON Bracewell & Giuliani LLP is representing Plains Exploration & Production Company in its acquisition of approximately 60,000 net acres in the Eagle Ford oil and gas condensate windows in South Texas for $578 million in cash. The firm is advising Plains on multiple facets of the transaction, including contractual, environmental, labor, regulatory, and tax matters.

Approximately 20,400 net acres, of the total 60,000 net acres are located in a joint operating area between Plains and EOG Resources, Inc. The acquisition is expected to close during the fourth-quarter of 2010.
