Bracewell & Giuliani Represents Impact Oil & Gas in Acquisition of Black Star Petroleum

Bracewell & Giuliani (UK) LLP represented Impact Oil & Gas, an independent exploration and production company based in the UK, in the acquisition of Black Star Petroleum Plc., an African focused oil exploration company. Black Star’s assets include an exploration license offshore of Guinea Bissau and a signed purchase and sale agreement to acquire another exploration license in West Africa.

Impact Oil & Gas currently has three offshore assets in South Africa, where the company has a partnership with Exxon Mobil and has recently been awarded licenses in the 2013 Gabon licensing round.

The transaction closed on January 22, 2014 for an undisclosed amount.
