Bracewell & Giuliani Elects Two New Members to Management Committee

HOUSTON — Bracewell & Giuliani LLP has announced that Partners Dewey J. Gonsoulin, Jr. in Houston and Mark K. Lewis in Washington, D.C., have been elected to each serve three-year terms on the firm’s management committee.

Gonsoulin focuses on energy finance, and has worked with both borrowers and lenders on credit facilities in the upstream energy sector. These transactions include traditional reserve based credit facilities provided by senior bank lenders and mezzanine lenders to independent producers, as well as more complex off-balance sheet volumetric production payment transactions and hedging arrangements. In addition to the upstream energy finance market, he also handles financing transactions in the oilfield service and midstream sectors of the energy industry. Gonsoulin chairs the firm’s finance practice and serves on its finance committee.

Lewis, managing partner of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, concentrates his practice on energy-related projects, transactions and controversies. He focuses on midstream oil and gas pipeline development projects in the United States and globally with respect to project structuring, contracting and government approvals. Lewis also provides legal counsel in contract negotiations involving operating, transportation and gas purchase and sale agreements and advises clients regarding regulatory aspects of contract/tariff and rate matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and various other state agencies.
