Bracewell & Giuliani Advises Kazatomprom On Inaugural Note Offering

HOUSTON Bracewell & Giuliani LLP announced the successful completion by JSC National Company Kazatomprom of a USD$500 million inaugural offering of notes. This offering marked the first direct issuance by a Kazakhstan issuer, resulting in a dual listing on the London Stock Exchange and on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange.   

Bracewell represented Kazatomprom in this offering. The notes were placed with institutional investors in the United States, Europe and Asia.

Kazatomprom is the national atomic company of Kazakhstan and is responsible for mining uranium in, and exporting uranium and its compounds from, Kazakhstan. Kazatomprom's uranium reserves account for approximately 16 percent of the world's reserves, according to a recent third party report.

The joint lead managers for the offering were BNP Paribas and J.P. Morgan. Halyk Finance was the lead manager in Kazakhstan.
