At this breakfast briefing, Stephen B. Crain, head of Bracewell's Energy Litigation practice, and an advisor to the energy industry in legal matters, will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of force majeure provisions in light of recent events.

This presentation will address some of the key components of force majeure provisions in the context of their general function of allocating and controlling potential risk between contracting parties. Mr. Crain will also discuss the impact of the Macondo incident and other similar events on that allocation of risk and likely future potential developments in the interpretation of force majeure clauses.
