Bankers are managing through periods of market turmoil not seen in twenty years. The industry is under attack from consumer groups, regulators and politicians. The current financial crisis will likely result in significant reform of the regulatory system and, consequently, how banks are supervised and operated.
Come hear a distinguished group of panelist discuss what regulatory changes are likely to occur, the current examination and supervision environment, FDIC bank resolution developments, challenges facing lenders in dealing with distressed debt, developments related to private equity and hedge investments in the banking industry, and possible accounting changes related to fair value and loan loss allowances.
The panel will include, among others, Robert L. Clarke, a senior partner in Bracewell & Giuliani’s financial services practice and former Comptroller of the Currency, and Deborah Bailey, a director in Deloitte & Touche’s financial institutions practice and former deputy director of the Banking and Supervision Division of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
1.50 hour of MCLE participatory hours pending by the Texas State Bar.
