At Bracewell, the seeds of future success are sown today. We seek out the highest-qualified law students, those with outstanding academic records, extraordinary work habits and a desire to provide the best legal advice possible. In turn, we provide an environment that supports and encourages the continuing legal education and professional development of our new associates. The result: Attorneys who feel challenged and appreciated, a firm in which objectives are clearly identified and achieved, and clients who know that their satisfaction is our highest priority.

Bracewell hires entry-level attorneys primarily through its summer associate program. Summer associate hiring begins in August with on-campus interviews of second-year law students, followed by fly-back, in-office interviews during August and September. We are pleased to consider applications from second-year law students at schools where we do not interview on campus. Applications should be submitted in early August here. The firm evaluates each year which offices will have a formal summer associate program based on the firm’s current entry level hiring needs. If you do not see an opening for a summer associate position in the office you are interested in, that office has either completed hiring for their summer associate program or is not currently having a summer associate program.

First-year law students who are interested in applying for our summer associate program should submit an application in early December here. Per NALP guidelines the links to apply for 1L positions will not be active until December 1. Please note that not all offices with summer programs hire first year students. We typically interview first-year candidates during December and early January.

Diversity is a key component of our vibrant, collaborative culture. We have been recognized by numerous national publications, as well as prominent business and legal organizations, for our hiring practices and support for the careers of minority and women attorneys. Consistent with our firmwide commitment to minority hiring, we participate in law school minority job fairs and local and national bar association minority clerkship programs. Recognizing that our attorneys play a key role in their local communities, we encourage our new associates to participate in professional, community, cultural and civic activities.

Equal Opportunity

Bracewell provides equal opportunity for employment to all individuals, regardless of race, color, creed, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
